Welcome
to the collège DARGENT. My name is Kevin and I'm in 4°5. This collège is in Lyon and Lyon is in France. In my class we are 26 pupils. We have got 11 teachers and we have all the essential subjects : French, English, technology, biology, arts, music, maths, history and geography, physical education, Spanish, physics and chemistry.
In this school, we can start at 8 o'clock and finish at 6 o'clock.

My week and my school

My name is Florian. I'm 13 years old. I'm a pupil of 4°5
in "collège Dargent" in Lyon, in France.

In my "collège" there are 630 pupils. It 's rather
big, the playground is large but there are not many trees. I don't
really like my school : the building are not very beautiful.
Nethereless, it's something special that not many other schools have :
it's heated with solar energy !

There are 5 lunchtime sports clubs : basketball,
soccer, volleyball, badminton, judo. The "collège"
also proposes other clubs : a newspaper, a computer technology clubs,
drama and choir.

I work from Mondays to Fridays, and every Wednesday mornings. I
work from 8 a.m. to 12 a.m.every morning and in the afternoon , I
usually work from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. On Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays,
except on Thursdays (I finish at 4 p.m.) and on Wednesdays I don't
work. We don't go to school on Saturdays and Sundays.

I've got 12 subjects : chemistry, biology, history-geography,
P.E., Spanish, French, Latin, English, maths, music, technology and
art.

My School Life

Dargent
is a secondary school in Lyon. It is a city of France, that is two
hours away from Paris by train. There are children from 11 to 15. In
a secondary school there are 4 levels :“6ème,
5ème, 4ème, 3ème”.
My name is Nataha. I'm 14 and I'm in “4ème”.

In a school week, I have 27 hours of lessons. I
don't go to school on Saturdays, on Sundays and on Wednesday
afternoons. We have one hour of music and art. We have two hours of
P.E in “4ème” but in “6ème”there
are 4 hours of P.E (every year we must run and I hate that !)

We learn two foreign languages, but in my
school there aren't many choices. We can only choose between Spanish
and German. English is compulsory in France. We can also learn Latin
from “5ème” and Greek from "3ème".
On Monday afternoon we have two hours of French - it is very boring !!
Then I must hurry because I have my ice-skating lesson at 6:00 p.m- I
finish school at 5:00 p.m ! We can eat lunch in the canteen, but it
isn't very good !

“Collège
Dargent”.
Dargent is in Lyon in the centre-east of France.

My name is Doriane. I am
in 4°5. I'm thirteen years old. I work twenty-seven
hours
per week on Mondays, on Tuesdays, on Wednesday mornings, on Thursdays, and on Fridays.

My school subjects
are : French (fives times a week), Spanish (three times a week),
English (three times a week), Maths (four times a week), PE, History, Physics and Chemistry, Biology, Technology and ICT, Arts, Latin.

I have got twenty
teachers.

I love PE because there
is swimming, it is fun.

They are six
hundred fifty pupils.
School children can do different extra activities at lunchtime. There
are Sports
(football, volleyball, badminton, basketball and judo), Drama,
a Game's
club
and a Newspaper
club.

This year, I will be on
stage, and my club is playing « Little
Women »
where I am Laurie.

Lyon is the
second biggest city of France. It is up South-East. It is about two
hundred kilometres from the Alps.

I spend twenty-six hours in my "collège"
every week. During the school week, I eat at home but, on Mondays I eat at the cafeteria with my friends, then we play badmington (in the
school club).

Sometimes on Wednesday afternoons, I do
badmington because I have a competition. I play this sport with my
friends : Anais, Natacha and Mariette.

Every day I start school at eight o'
clock, except on Tuesdays.

We have two breaks : one in the morning and one in the afternoon. During the breaks, I stay with my friends.

I like this "collège"
because is nice.

My name is Marie. I'm fourteen years old and I have got one brother and one sister.

I' m in high
school "DARGENT"
in Lyon. I work from Monday to Friday,
from 8 a.m to 12 a.m. I eat at the
school canteen. Usually at 1 p.m
there are the drama club, the computer club (...). We
start again at 2 p.m and we finish school to 5 p.m. On
Wednesdays I finish at 12 a.m, I haven't school in the afternoon.

I've different subjects : P.E ; sciences ; maths ; English ; French ; history and geography ; Spanish or Germain ;
music ; Latin ; technology ; biology and arts.
My school is big with four buildings.

A French pupil's school life

Hello, I am Denis and I am13 years old. I am a pupil of 4°5 in
Marcel Dargent high school in Lyon, France. In my school, there are
630 pupils.

I work from Monday to Friday. I always start school at 8:00 a.m.
and, I finish school at 5:00p.m. But, on Wednesdays, I finish school
at 12:00 a.m.

Here is my timetable :

– On Monday, I have got biology, physics, history, Spanish and French.

– On Tuesday, I have got Spanish, P.E., maths, English and French.

– On Wednesday, I have got music and history.

– On Thursday, I have got maths, English, arts, history and technology.

– On Friday,I have got English, Spanish,maths and French.

To go to school, I don't need to take the bus because my school is
500 metres from my house. I don't have to wear a uniform to go to
school.

I like basketball, watching films and reading comics. I love
rock, Linkin Park is my favorite group. I
don't like rap music and r'n'b. I love swimming, skiing and dancing.

I hate tidying my room, cleaning my cat's box and eating vegetable
soup. My favorite film is « La liste de Schindler »
and my favorite book is Eragon ; I am crazy
about playing football with my brother.
